Fairway’s Northern Georgia Operations Director, Randy Martin Retires; Dukes and Moore Promoted
Fairway Outdoor Advertising announces management changes to its Atlanta/Athens and Valdosta, Georgia markets. Randy Martin, director of operations for the company’s Northern Georgia Division in Atlanta and Athens, will be retiring this August. Before joining Fairway in 2010, Martin ran outdoor operations in West Tennessee and North Mississippi for Clear Channel’s Memphis branch. Previously, he was an Operations Manager for Eller Media in the Oklahoma City and Tulsa, Oklahoma area.
In making the announcement, Ron Moyer, general manager of Fairway’s North Georgia Division said, “Randy’s expertise and knowledge will be greatly missed by our division. Fairway thanks him for a job well done and wishes him well in his retirement.”
Filling the gap left by Martin’s retirement, Jacob Dukes has been promoted to Director of Operations for Fairway’s North Georgia Division, which includes the Atlanta and Athens markets. Dukes is currently the Operations Manager for Fairway’s Southeast Division based in Valdosta, Georgia, and will assume his new responsibilities in North Georgia on September 1, 2014. In 2006, Dukes began his outdoor advertising career with Magic Media as Production Manager, quickly taking on added real estate responsibilities renewing leases, and becoming Operations Manager in 2008.
According to Fairway’s National Director of Operations Ken Guy, “Dukes attention to detail, leadership qualities and experience managing our Southeast operations have prepared him well for leading the operations team in Atlanta and Athens.”
To replace Dukes in the Southeast Division, Virgil Moore has been promoted to Operations Manager and will begin transitioning into his new position over the next 30 days as Dukes moves into his new role in Athens. In 1991, Moore started in the industry with Outdoor East, and was promoted in 1993 to Operations Manager. In 1994, the company was sold to Lamar Outdoor and Moore continued as Operations Manager until 2012 when Fairway acquired Lamar’s Valdosta, Georgia plant in an asset swap.
“In the short time that Virgil has been with Fairway’s Southeast Division, he has proven himself to be a team player and valuable asset during the swap transition phase,” said Terry Harkins, general manager of Fairway’s Southeast Division. “Given his background, knowledge, and hands on approach; he will transition well into his new position at Fairway.”
